It pisses me off that a band I liked in the early 2000s recently made transphobic statements on their website. I'm honestly glad I've stopped being a big fan of them years ago already, but still, this sucks. I feel like not listening to their older songs anymore either. (well, except the one album which they made in their very early years when they were an entirely different constellation of people and had a very different approach overall. That's an exception, because it's technically not even the same band, despite having the same name.)
Everything they made except this one super old album now feels like propaganda to me... statements they made with something like this in mind. I'm open about discussing a lot of things. But transphobia is not an "opinion", it's overstepping of boundaries, plain and simple. MY identity, MY body. (applies to everyone else too.)
